Holy Week and Sacred Triduum Resources- Please Join Us!

Dear Holy Rosary Families,

We did not expect to find ourselves celebrating Holy Week at home this year, but that does not mean that we cannot still be together in prayer!  It can bring us all great comfort to join together during these sacred days, particularly as we enter the Triduum Thursday, Friday, and Saturday.  Please join us this week for the following:

Wednesday:

Father Oakland will stream a special school Mass at 9:30.  Watch this live on the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook page or follow directions to link from the parish website if you do not have a Facebook account (www.holyrosaryseattle.org).

Holy Thursday:

We encourage all families to participate in the Faith Family activity that would have been part of our Holy Thursday activities.  Please find a script and presentation attached here.  If you are able,  join us as a whole school to participate in this special activity from 2:30 – 3:00 Thursday afternoon.  We believe there will be great power in us joining as a whole school for this special prayer!

Holy Thursday Mass at 7:00 pm will be streamed on the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook site.

Good Friday:

We encourage this to be a quiet or “dark” day.  Consider minimizing use of electronics and focus on prayer during the day and praying the Stations of the Cross as a family.  School would have dismissed silently at noon.  We encourage all families to engage in five minutes of silence at noon.

You can pray with the Stations of the Cross here.

For kids and adults, the follow pages are also excellent resources to reflect on this powerful practice:

The Liturgy of the Lord’s Passion will be streamed on the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook site at 3:00 pm.

Holy Saturday:

At 8:30 pm, Easter Vigil in the Night will be streamed on the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook site.

Easter Sunday:

Happy Easter!  Join us at 9:30 am for the Easter Sunday Mass (also streamed on the Holy Rosary Parish Facebook account).

We hope your family will experience a blessed Holy Week.   Though we are physically apart during this Holy Week, you all remain deeply in our prayers.  May this Holy Week and the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ bring peace, comfort, and joy to you all.

In Christ,

The Holy Rosary School Staff
