Drop-off and Pick-Up Safety
A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO KEEP EVERYONE SAFE DURING THESE BUSY TIMES. Drop off time in the mornings is getting a little crazy! Please help keep everyone safe and sane by following the rules:
- Do not get out of your car in the drop off lane. If you like to help your child out of the car, or give them their backpack and a hug, or if they have a giant project they need help with, please park elsewhere. This lane is for quick drop-offs only.
- Please use the crosswalks, even if you are late.
- Never let your child out of or into your car while in the middle lane of the road. Yes, sometimes this would be quicker and more convenient, but it’s just not safe.
- Use your indicator lights. If the car behind you knows where you want to go, they might let you in.
- Pull as far forward in the drop off line as is possible, which is almost all the way up to the fire hydrant and the exit from the alley. Some days your kid might get lucky and get the red carpet treatment and get dropped off right in front, some days they will have to walk the extra steps and it’s somebody’s else’s red carpet day.
- Do not park where it says “No Parking Anytime.” This is for safety reasons, and no amount of convenience is worth risking a child’s safety.
- Do not sit out in front of the school in the morning waiting for the doors to open or letting your kids finish watching their video. If they don’t want to get out yet, you have the option of going around the block. When your child is dropped off, please do not check your phone for messages while still in the drop off lane; move up to the next block.
- Please refrain from rude hand gestures to your fellow Holy Rosary parents. Yes, sad to say, we actually have to include this as a reminder.
- Smile! Summer will be here soon. Let’s all show some love and grace to each other as we finish these last weeks of the year.

There are two new options available in the Sport-Tek: a hoodie, and a zip-up without a hood. These are in addition to the cotton hoodie already available. CHILDREN’S CHOIR WELCOMES SECOND GRADERS TO SING ON MOTHER’S DAY! Every year the Holy Rosary Youth Choir for students in grades 3-5, welcomes Second Graders into the choir to sing for Mother’s Day! It is exciting and fun to see and hear 15-20 new young singers learn about choir and the joy of singing together! And then even more fun and memorable to have them sing for their moms on Mother’s Day!
The Choir will sing at the 10:30 Sunday Mass on Mother’s Day, May 8. Rehearsals are after school from 2:30 to 3:15 in the chapel on the following Wednesdays: April 13, 20, 27 and May 4. Teachers will escort kids from the classrooms to chapel. Pick-up is from the chapel courtyard at 3:15. Students will be escorted back to BASE if needed. They will also rehearse Sunday morning, May 8, in the chapel at 9:30 a.m. No cost for second graders to participate. Donations always welcome.
To have your second grader sing on Mother’s Day, please register online here. Arrangements can also be made if there is a Wednesday rehearsal conflict. Our goal is to have as many second graders as possible join the choir to sing for their moms!

APRIL MERCY OF THE MONTH – COUNSEL THE DOUBTFUL – This month we are invited to Counsel the Doubtful. There are two types of doubt: those that arise from a lack of knowledge, and those that arise from a lack of faith or hope. With this Spiritual Work of Mercy, we are invited to help others come to know and follow Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is Him who gives us hope. And it is He that we must come to know, as well as His teachings, as we strive to be faithful disciples, and help others to do the same – that the promise given to us of eternal life with Him may be ours.
