Principal’s Newsletter

THE SOCIAL EVENT OF THE YEAR – Last Saturday we had our Annual Heart auction. It was a vibrant and energetic success. I fully believe the numbers will reveal our highest results ever. This event basically decides if we end the year in the black and I cannot help but believe that will prove to be the case. We even had the “Village People” show up and perform “Y.M.C.A”. It was unbelievable.

None of this could have taken place without the dedicated investment of time, energy, talents and money by a number of wonderful volunteers. It was a delightful evening and everyone had an awful lot of fun. It is a great way to raise funds and celebrate community. Please extend a warm thank you and your deepest appreciation to the parents who really threw themselves into making this happen for the rest of the community —– and especially for our children. They are the magic dust that makes this place work.

ALL HANDS ON DECK – I just got word from our last teacher. All the teaching staff will be returning next year! That is fantastic news. Everyone works well together. We are very much a family. It will help with our Accreditation process.

WESTFEST ANYONE – We are still looking for someone to chair WestFest for next year. It is not really like you have to organize and run everything. There are teams of people who have areas that they take care of. The chair coordinates and oversees the undertaking. Please contact Kamila Kennedy or George Hofbauer if you are interested.

PIZZA LUNCH – Remember tomorrow is 8th grade pizza lunch. For the 7th graders on the field trip tomorrow, the pizza lunch team will set aside pizza for them when they return to school.

This will be happening on Sunday, April 24 at the 8:30 a.m. Mass, along with the 8:30 Mass choir, under the direction of Bob Ingalls.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR WELCOMES SECOND GRADERS TO SING ON MOTHERS’ DAY! Every year, the Holy Rosary Youth Choir for students in grades 3-5, welcomes second graders into the choir to sing for Mothers’ Day! It is exciting and fun to see and hear 15-20 new young singers learn about choir and the joy of singing together! And then even more fun and memorable to have them sing for their moms on Mothers’ Day!

The choir will sing at the 10:30 Sunday Mass on Mothers’ Day, May 8. Rehearsals are after school in the chapel on Wednesdays: April 13, 20, 27 and May 4, from 2:30-3:15. Teachers will escort kids from classroom to chapel. Pick-up is from the chapel courtyard at 3:15. Students will be escorted back to BASE as needed. They will also rehearse Sunday morning (May 8) in the chapel at 9:30 a.m. No cost for second graders to participate. Donations always welcome.

To have your second grader sing on Mothers’ Day, please register online on the Holy Rosary Parish website by clicking here. Arrangements can also be made if there is a Wednesday rehearsal conflict. Our goal is to have as many second graders as possible join the choir to sing for their Moms!

APRIL MERCY OF THE MONTH – COUNSEL THE DOUBTFUL – This month we are invited to Counsel the Doubtful.  There are two types of doubt: those that arise from a lack of knowledge, and those that arise from a lack of faith or hope. With this Spiritual Work of Mercy, we are invited to help others come to know and follow Jesus Christ who is the Way, the Truth and the Life. It is Him who gives us hope. And it is He that we must come to know, as well as His teachings, as we strive to be faithful disciples, and help others to do the same – that the promise given to us of eternal life with Him may be ours. Click here to download the .pdf.
