Principal’s Message

Dear Holy Rosary families,

By the time you read this, Lent will be over, and we will have entered into the Sacred Triduum. These three days, the three most solemn days of the Liturgical Year, allow us to enter into the unity of Christ’s Pascal Mystery. The entire Holy Week and Easter Octave schedule for Holy Rosary Parish can be found at I hope your family is able to join in the important celebrations during this Sacred Triduum.

On a different note, we are waiting for a few final details to post the entire calendar for next year, but in response to some questions, I am reposting the dates that were sent out in March. I hope this will help in future planning.

  • First day of school:  Sept. 5
  • Conferences:  Nov. 20-22 (Thanksgiving break:  Nov. 23-24)
  • Christmas vacation:  noon dismissal on Dec. 19. Return to school Jan. 2 (which is not a national holiday this year)
  • Mid-winter vacation:  Feb. 16-20 (Feb. 16 is a staff work day, but no students)
  • Spring break:  April 2-6
  • Last day of school:  June 15

I hope you all have a very Blessed Easter and a relaxing spring break!

In Christ,

Preschool Open House

Coding With Kids Spring Session Registration

It’s the last session for Coding With Kids this year. See our Coding With Kids page for more information and contact Janise Jordan to register. Today is the last day to register because classes start on the Monday after spring break.

Class Pictures

The class pictures will be on Tuesday, April 25. Please have your student wear Perfect Uniform. Thank you. We are looking for a volunteer to help bring the students to the School Hall from the classrooms. Please contact Jennifer Hazzard in the school office if you are able to help.

Talent Show Permission Slips In Office

The annual Holy Rosary School Talent Show is coming up on Friday, May 12! We are looking forward to seeing the students sharing their talents with our school. Permission slips are now in the office, so pick one up today! Please make sure to read the directions carefully and turn in this completed and signed slip to the office in the morning between 8:15 and 8:25. Group acts need to turn in their slips together. The final turn in day is Tuesday, April 25. Thank you!

Development Directives

Don’t forget to apply for MATCHING FUNDS. We can still make our goal of $60,000 for the fire alarm if all those who are eligible apply for their match. No amount is too small and most companies offer the application online. If you neeed help figuring out the process, please contact Beth Martin.

AUCTION PURCHASES are available for pick up in the main office. Please see Jennifer Hazzard. This includes fire sale items. The exception are BUYBACKS and TEACHER BOOKS, which will be sent home late April/early May. Those who are due a dress pass for bidding 70% of value will receive those by the end of the week.

Now that the auction is in the books, our focus for the remainder of the year will be the ANNUAL FUND. If you made a pledge at the beginning of the school year, and are not making payments, please fulfill that pledge before the end of April. If you have NOT had an opportunity to make an annual fund donation, I urge you to help us reach 100% participation. No amount is too small. When applying for grants, a higher percentage of participation allows the granting committee know that we have exhausted our resources at the family level. Currently we are at 63% and I know we can do better! Click here to make a donation.

In case you missed the Fund-An-Item video, I urge you to take a look. You don’t want to miss the debut of Anna’s Angels. A special thank you to Chris Carter for sharing his expertise. Also, a HUGE shout out to Sarah Mackay for filming this video, last minute on no budget, and for lending her voice as emcee of the auction. We are such a lucky community to have parents share their talents to benefit Holy Rosary!

Tired of figuring out how you will get those hours in? We are looking for magazine co-chairs. You will fulfill all your hours in the fall and not have to worry about it the rest of the year. Our past co-chairs are happy to meet and walk you through the steps this spring.

CHILDREN’S CHOIR WELCOMES ALL SECOND GRADERS TO SING ON MOTHER’S DAY! Every year, the Holy Rosary Youth Choir for students in grades 3-5, welcomes second graders into the choir to sing for Mother’s Day! It is exciting and fun to see and hear all the new young singers learn about choir and the joy of singing together! And then even more fun to have them sing for their moms on Mother’s Day!

The choir will sing at the 10:30 Mass on Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 14. Rehearsals are after school in the chapel on the following Wednesdays:  April 26, May 3, and May 10, from 2:30-3:15. Teachers will escort kids from classroom to chapel. Pick-up is from the chapel courtyard at 3:15. Students will be escorted back to BASE as needed. They will also rehearse before Mass on Sunday morning, May 14, in the chapel at 9:45 a.m. No cost for second graders to participate. Donations always welcome.

To have your second grader sing on Mother’s Day, please register online at the Holy Rosary Parish website. Arrangements can also be made if there is a Wednesday rehearsal conflict. Our goal is to have as many second graders as possible join the choir and sing for their moms!
