The mission of Holy Rosary School is to help each child discover and fully develop their God-given talents. As a Catholic School community, we strive for excellence in our students’ spiritual, academic, physical, mental, aesthetic, and social-emotional growth. It is our intention that those who attend this institution mature into active citizens leading a committed faith life and reaching out to help others locally, nationally, and internationally with their wisdom, time, talent, and financial resources.
PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE
Dear Holy Rosary Families,
We have entered June! Next week will be our last full week of regular school, and it’s time for us to finish strong! Please pay attention to the last week of school schedule posted at the end of this eFC message. The last three days of school have an early dismissal Wednesday, noon dismissal Thursday, and dismissal Friday after the all school Mass. School Mass the last week of school moves from Wednesday morning to Friday morning.
This Sunday at 3:00pm we celebrate our graduating 8th graders with a Baccalaureate Mass and a celebratory dinner to follow. Our 8th graders then graduate next Thursday. Please hold them in your prayers as they begin their next steps. Many of them have been with us for 11 years, so this is a big life transition! We are proud of the young adults they have become and are excited to see the big things they will do next! If your family would like to join us in prayer for these 8th graders during the Mass Sunday, you are welcome to come. Again, Mass will be at 3:00 in the church.
In Christ,
Anna

Spam Emails & Texts
Please be cautious if you receive an email or text from the school or parish asking for money or a favor. Scammers are becoming more and more savvy in the way they send out fraudulent messages. Fr.Oakland or Mrs.Horton will not send you a personal email or text asking for cash, gift cards or a favor in which you must respond back immediately.
Spring Dress
As we get further into spring and the warmer weather, a reminder about the dress code. For students in free dress, shorts should be around finger tip length, and all clothes should be school appropriate (no mid-drift or stomachs showing, no spaghetti straps on tank tops).
Alley Reminders
A gentle reminder that the alley next to the playground is a public alley. Please DO NOT stop and wait to pick up your child(ren). The alley is for active loading and unloading. Please circle the block if you are waiting for your child.

ACTION ITEMS
Library
Local author and artist, Ben Clanton, will be visiting the Holy Rosary School Library on Tuesday, June, 6. He will be talking about his books and art to our K-2 students. Please visit Paper Boat Booksellers and purchase your book before our event so your student can get their book signed by the author. Paper Boat Booksellers has partnered with Holy Rosary for this very special author event.

Lunches of Love- Family Service Project Opportunity
The Holy Rosary Parish St. Vincent de Paul Ministry distributes Lunches of Love to people living on the streets, in their cars, and to local encampments as a way of showing love for our brothers and sisters living on the margins. They are trying to stock up for the summertime. This would be a wonderful opportunity for a family looking to do some service together at home. Lunches should be non-perishable (no fresh fruit, sandwiches, etc). Canned meats, canned fruits, nuts, granola bars, bottled water, are all good options. Don’t forget a napkin and silverware if necessary! The office will collect lunches through the end of the month and make sure they get down to the food pantry for distribution. Thank you for considering this service opportunity!
Summer Math Challenge
It’s almost summer, which means time for fun and relaxation! Students also have the opportunity to keep their math skills sharp by participating in the summer math challenge. Students should fill out and record their time as the summer progresses and be ready to turn it in during the first week back at school. It will be due on Friday, Sept. 8th! Both the summer math and reading challenges are optional.
Students will receive this before the end of the year from their homeroom teacher, but it is also attached here if you’d like to print at home.

Friendly competition is at the heart of Challenge, as teams of students engage in research, problem-solving, coding and engineering – building and programming a LEGO robot that navigates the missions of a robot game. Each year in August, FIRST LEGO League Challenge teams are introduced to a scientific and real-world challenge for teams to focus on and research. The robotics part of the competition involves designing and programming Lego Education robots to complete tasks. The students work out a solution to a problem related to the theme and then meet for regional, national and international tournaments to compete, share their knowledge, compare ideas and display their robots.
