Dear Holy Rosary Families,
What a glorious spring week this has been! We had a wonderful time at last weekend’s auction- thank you so much for your generous support of our school. I’d also like to thank our chairs and all of the many, many volunteers who made it happen. The auction is truly a team effort, and everyone’s support is essential. Thank you again!! For those that couldn’t make it, we’ll see you next year!!
This eFC and the newsletters the next few weeks will contain important information regarding end of the year activities and planning for next year. Stay tuned and read closely!
A MESSAGE FROM FR. OAKLAND
It will be the traditional feast of Corpus Christ, the Body and Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ. Formerly instituted 700+ years ago, this feast celebrates the presence of God in our midst in the Most Holy Eucharist. Over the years, one of the traditions that emerged was annual processions. The priest would carry the Blessed Sacrament in a monstrance, and would process from the Church into the streets accompanied by the people. A baldachino – a veil – was carried over his head, a symbol of the presence of the Holy. It is a great act of witness to our faith to our neighbors. It is a celebration of God’s presence in our midst. It is an invocation of His blessings upon our lives and our community. It is a reminder that as we receive Jesus in the Holy Eucharist at Mass, we are called to carry Him with us as we go – and be Christ to others.
So after Mass on Thursday, May 31, the Altar Servers will lead us out the side door of the Church. I will follow, with a baldachino carried above. And then all the school children and all others present. As we go around the block, we will sing hymns of praise to God. We will return to the grassy beside the church where an altar will be set up, and will have Benediction, or the formal blessing. If you are interested in assisting with the procession, please contact Robert King at firstname.lastname@example.org.

A special thanks to the Chairs: Kate McGovern, Marcia Metcalf, Wendy Mowat, and Molly Ward. Also, thank you to all the leads that worked on this event for months and the day of 50+ volunteers. As you can tell this is a HUGE volunteer effort.
Credit cards have been charged and receipts sent. If you didn’t receive yours, please contact Beth Martin. Don’t forget to apply for MATCHING FUNDS from your company. All money spent over Fair Market Value is eligible for matching.
AUCTION PURCHASES are available for pick up in the main office, please pick up ASAP. The exception are BUYBACKS and TEACHER BOOKS, these will be sent home in early May or as they are completed.
MISSING ITEMS – A few auction items may have made their way home with the incorrect bidder. Please review your receipt and make sure it matches your items. Specifically looking for a black Kate Spade purse, Family Portrait Experience and On-site Massage Sessions.
Now that the auction is in the books, our focus for the remainder of the year will be the ANNUAL FUND. If you made a pledge in November, and you are not making payments, please fulfill that pledge before the end of May. If you have NOT had an opportunity to make an annual fund donation, I urge you to help us reach 100% participation. No amount is too small.
