Family Communication 4/14/22

Dear Holy Rosary Families,
We have entered the Sacred Triduum, and we are walking with Jesus during His final days and towards His glorious resurrection at Easter.  Today all classes in the school participated in a Holy Thursday prayer service, where students learned about and prayed about the Last Supper.  Tomorrow all students will go into the church to experience the Living Stations of the Cross, a powerful Good Friday tradition.  You can watch this live streamed from home, we will pray two Living Stations, one at 9:30 and one at 11:10.  Students should be in perfect uniform Friday and at noon (11:55 and 12:05) we will have a silent dismissal. Thank you for assisting us with this powerful tradition on Good Friday.
I wish you all a blessed Easter and a relaxing spring break!  When we return we will definitely be in the end-of-the year countdown!!  We encourage all families to test your children for COVID-19 prior to returning from spring break, especially if you are traveling.  If you do not have a rapid test at home, you can bring your child through the office our first day back from break.  If your child is unvaccinated and you will be traveling, please contact the office so we can set up testing the week we are back from break.
May the peace of Christ be with you this Easter!
In Christ,

“Let us go with him to die.”  The words of the Apostle Thomas just two weeks ago as they neared Jerusalem.  So too, we go with Jesus to die – in hopes of rising to new life.  Life isnt perfect.  It has its aches and pains and sufferings – physical, mental, spiritual; amidst relationships, communities and nations.  Our own solutions always eventually fail.  Christ alone can set us free – and does – in His Passion, Death and Resurrection.  But only if we join  him in that journey.  As he will ask the Apostles tonight in the Garden of Gethsemane:  “Could you not watch with me for just one hour?”  Be with Jesus during these days.  Enjoin your sufferings to His.  Die with Christ.  That Easter might truly mean something new for you this year – new life.
Have a blessed Easter.  If you are in town, be sure and join us for these wondrous celebrations:
Holy Week Schedule:  Joining with Jesus in the Journey

Travelling?  Visit to find a church near you, and check their website for the Mass times just to be safe.  Jesus is Lord not just here in Seattle, but throughout all space and time, and it is important to celebrate with Christ the most important event in all of human history no matter where you are.

In this week’s edition of Counselor’s Corner, I continue to focus on relaxation and mindfulness strategies. Relaxation strategies tend to work the best in stressful moments when they have been practiced. I hope everyone has a wonderful and relaxing Spring Break. Keep reading…

The only accepted exemption is medical. You can access your child’s state immunization records at My IR Mobile. If you have any questions, please contact Kristin Bentler in the school office.

Playground Use After School

On a trial basis, we have adjusted our after-school playground policy and will allow non-BASE students to play on the playground after school on Thursdays and Fridays until 4:00, on days when our BASE numbers are lower.  We are trying this until Spring break (with the exception of Good Friday) and are hoping this will work well for everyone.  We want everyone to be able to share the space and gather together and know the importance of this!   We also must ensure that we have a safe playground area and that the number of people out there are manageable, so everyone is able to safely play and be supervised.   All students playing on the playground who are not in BASE must have a parent or adult present actively supervising them at all times.   Parent volunteers will be present to ensure that all non-BASE students have someone there providing supervision and to answer any questions you may have about these adjustments.

Good Society Night Out

If you are in town this Tuesday, head over to The Good Society for HRS 3rd Tuesday of the month! Grab a pint and a bite at The Good Society and 25% of your sale goes to HRS. Social time, great beer and fundraising for HRS…it’s a WIN-WIN!  Be sure to mention you are there to support Holy Rosary!
