Dear Holy Rosary Families,
Happy third week of Advent! I hope this week brings you joy and anticipation as we await the Incarnation of Jesus Christ.
Our students have been preparing themselves as well, participating in many Advent activities. Included in this is our annual Christmas Program, under the direction of Ms. Mudge and Ms. McKamey. I hope to see you all there tonight, beginning with the band performance in the church at 6:15. Students are to report to classrooms at 5:45 dressed in “Sunday best.” We’d also ask, since this program is one of prayer, and out of respect for all of the hard work that goes into it, that you stay until the very end of the program. Thank you!
I do hope you and your family have a blessed Christmas and that the birth of Christ fills your hearts with love, peace, and joy.
Have a relaxing break!
And the Grinch, with his grinch feet ice-cold in the snow,
Stood puzzling and puzzling. “How could it be so?
It came without ribbons! It came without tags!
It came without packages, boxes, or bags!”
He puzzled and puzzled till his puzzler was sore.
Then the Grinch thought of something he hadn’t before.
Maybe Christmas, he thought, doesn’t come from a store.
Maybe Christmas, perhaps, means a little bit more!
Christmas doesn’t just mean a little bit more. It means everything! Literally everything, because God comes to earth! And He comes to save – to cast out darkness with His light.
Our Christmas Eve Masses are at 5PM, 8PM, 11PM and 9AM Christmas morning.
If you are traveling, be sure to visit www.masstimes.org to find a Church near you to celebrate the birth of Christ with Jesus and His Church.
This Christmastide, may you know the peace, the hope, the joy and the love that Jesus came to bring. In Christ,

The church doors will open beginning at 5:15. Please see that your child reports to their classroom no later than 5:45 pm – please note: supervision in the classrooms will not begin until 5:45. Students are to wear their “Sunday best” for the performance – (no jeans, etc. – please consult the handbook for general guidelines). Kindergarten wear costumes so the homeroom teachers may advise differently on what to wear under their costume. Seats will be reserved for families of Kindergarten students, as well as those who bid for the front row seats at the auction last year. (Please contact the school office if this is your family.) Special request — if you plan to record the performance, please do so from the sides of the church so that all are able to see and enjoy the program. Inclement Weather Policy
As we near the start of winter, it is a good time to review our inclement weather policy. Generally, we follow the Seattle Public Schools in terms of late starts and closures. However, there may be times we deviate, especially if weather conditions are poor in other parts of the city but not here in West Seattle. In the case of a delayed start or closure, we will notify families the following ways:
1) Email to the HRS families distribution list (the list that is used to distribute the eFC each week).
2) Posting to the Holy Rosary website.
3) Posting to the Holy Rosary FaceBook page.
4) Posting to the West Seattle Blog.
We will no longer be using the Remind.com app to communicate closures and delays. The program has changed and the cost has gone up exponentially.
Please remember- in the case of a delayed start, there will be no am preschool or am BASE. In the case of a closure, BASE will be completely closed as well.
