Family Communication 1/6/22

Dear Holy Rosary Families,
Happy New Year!
I’d like to thank you all for the outpouring of love and support before Christmas and into this new year.  The amazing cards your children made before Christmas are so touching.  Thank you for the gifts, for the kind works, and for all you do to support our school each and every day.
We’re thrilled to have our students back at school this week.  Though not without its challenges, we are pushing through each day and getting back into our routines.  We’re reviewing our Safe, Respectful, and Responsible expectations with students and re-teaching procedures as we start this second half of the year.  We will soon begin re-registration for the 22–23 school year.  Look for information to come on this next week.  We will ask all families to commit to re-register by January 31st, as this will assist us with our budget development and planning for next year.
I’d like to invite you to join us for a virtual Parents Club next Wednesday, January 12th.  RSVP to Kristin Bentler at  I’ll provide updates on the start of the second half of this year, and our wonderful counselor Ms. Samson will present as well on continuing to push through these challenging days.
May the peace of Christ be with you all during this new year!
In Christ,

Happy New Year!  I hope you had a wonderful holiday break! In this week’s Counselor’s Corner, I will discuss strategies surrounding recognizing and responding to peer pressure.
Peer Pressure
Peers play a large role in the social and emotional development of children and adolescents. Their influence begins at an early age and increases through the teenage years. It is natural, healthy and important for children to have and rely on friends as they grow and mature. Continue reading

January Is National Blood Donor Month

To create awareness and to help ensure an ample blood supply post-holidays for our community, Holy Rosary School is running a two week blood donation campaign with Bloodworks Northwest.
About the campaign: Give blood by visiting any Bloodworks Northwest Donor Center (fixed site) or Pop-up Donor Center (temporary site) that is conveniently located near you between Mon Jan 3 and Mon Jan 17 and upon arrival, check in (register) to give blood under donor code HRS.  We ask you to provide this code so the blood center can track our impact!  (Or mention to the registrar you are donating on behalf of Holy Rosary School).  Help us reach a goal of finding 30 folks to attend over the two-week time frame!
To ensure social distancing, appointments are required. Please search for a blood donation location and make your appointment anywhere from Jan 3 – 17 HERE
If a West Seattle pop-up suits you best, please save your spot HERE
For help booking an appointment e-mail or call 1-800-398-7888.   For info on eligibility, donor incentives, the safety of donating blood during the pandemic, please visit
