Putting yourself in someone else’s reality is the ultimate journey of a dedicated actor. One of the most important assets in an actor’s approach to acting is the ability to look at people without judgment. We all have biases, but in order to dig deep and explore a character, an actor must set aside these biases.
This class will open the door to a journey that is designed to teach you to observe, study, listen, hear, empathize and ultimately even merge with a person you dislike intensely. True character study will unleash your imagination and help you build a tool kit, filled with versatile acting choices that you’ll be able to apply to your characters and make you stand out before and after you book the job. In watching others objectively, you’ll learn to welcome what you’ve always perceived to be your own imperfections, and see them as gifts.
Moving forward, when you work on scenes with other actors, you will have the tools to explore not just who you are, but who the other characters are, their history and the nature of your relationships.

Space is limited. All skill levels are welcome
Get the best of both worlds! Both camps have been so popular over the years we thought, “Let’s take the best parts from each camp and combine them.” Kind of like peanut butter and chocolate: two very different tastes that complement each other extremely well.
Often young actors are encouraged to learn new skills, and with Kids’ Half and Half Camp not only will they improve their acting skills but they will learn a valuable new skill set for the industry. And for those who love martial arts they get to utilize and demonstrate their skills and put them on camera. Their fight choreography scenes will be taped and viewed in class. They will be educated on acting, safety, and their best camera angles for their scene. Those kids interested in directing are welcome to attend as well. Video cameras are used during class time so students may see their work at every stage of the process.
This week-long camp includes:
- Basic skills for on-camera auditions
- Monologues
- On -set film etiquette and terminology (From “Action” to “That’s a Wrap”)
- Improvisation
- Scene study
- Stage combat/fight choreography
- Taekwondo
- Board breaking
- Intro to Meisner Acting Technique
In addition, students will learn the very important skills of self-defense (for real, not acting) in the Personal Safety portion of this camp. And of course we cannot forget our traditional favorite field trip to the bowling alley and the ice cream social afterwards. Super fun!!
Register today so you don’t miss out!
